I will try and make this as short as I can. When I bought my house I had an empty field next door. Was cool for some 8 years. Contractor bought the lot and put up a million dollar house. Okay looking house but it would not sell in today's depressed market. Mind you this is on the beach were houses are about 6 feet apart. You get to know each other quite well. After about 6 months they rent this house out to three guys fron Las Vegas. These guys have got to be the loudest people on the planet. I have asked politly and warned with vigor about 5 times. Finally I had had enough. I called the police after I hid my dog. They came over and warned to keep the noise down. He ranted and rave for 2 hours after that but did keep it in his house. (I could barely hear him) Fast forward two days. He is partying, all day, and having a great time. I wait untill midnight to open my bedroom window and ask him politly to STFU. He screams and yells then goes accross the street to party. Half the people there leave within 15 minutes. At this point he goes to the top of the house and scream FUCK YOU every ten minutes till about 0500. This time the person behind him has called the police. They come over and tell him in no uncertain terms to be quiet. When they leave he screams for awhile then come over to my house to "kick my ass" as he put it. I answer the door with pistol in hand but behind my back. (he is drunk so I do not want to escalate this if I don't have to) He did this twice all told. The cops show up that afternoon when he is sober and read him the riot act. They told him that they will haul his ass off if they have to come back out. He has been somewhat quiet but I can forsee another phone call coming. What can I do to get this guy either out of the hood or simply to STFU? Oh yeah, My son tells me the rumor is that he is dealing pot out of the house in large quantities. Help me out guys. |

well, if he showed up drunk on my porch ranting at me and was lucky enough not to get shot, he would be in jail at the very least. I see bad juju ahead. Take the next opportunity that he presents to file a complaint that will get him more than a "talking to" all my opinion and YMMV |

| Sounds like you're doing all the right stuff so far, and the police seem to be getting the right impression of the douchebag next door. If you think he might have dope in there, drop a dime on him for that too. But from what you're saying, I'd bet this guy is on his way out anyway if the cops keep on him. |
Yep. Idiots like that tend to end up in jail after time. Just be patient and keep working the system. |
| I know how you feel, I have renters next door and the whole family is messed up! I can't even begin to tell you the whole story...but, to make a long story short, we have already had them to court twice and local police called probably a 2 dozen times. They still haven't moved away yet. What does it take to eradicate a bunch of losers from the neighborhood? |

If you are as close to his house as you say you are and he is as loud as you claim then get a video camera out and record him from your property. Call the police and show them the video. Make sure you have it running when he threatens to kick your ass and use that to get a restraining order against him. If you make their life difficult enough they will move somewhere else. |

Sslocal your actions thus far have given you the upper hand. Given that Kalifornia doesn't allow you to properly defend yourself, continue as you have been. Avoid direct confrontation. Let the LEO's tune him up as they will get tired of dealing with this 'tard. I like frozen Round-Up ice cubes toss randomly onto the lawn. Drop dime to the owner & tell him dirtbag next door is fuckin' the place up & devaluing the place. |
| I got a white trash famiy next door with a pit bull chained to each corner of their yard - I live on 43 acres however my house is located on the western end of the property about 300 yards from the scumbags - I have pine and oak trees blocking the view but I can hear them and the stupid dogs barking and their coming and going all hours of the day and night - I contacted the Sheriff and he talked to them and they quieted down for awhile but now the noise has started again - I feel for you man |

I agree witht he above talk to the home owner. I am betting if they are behaving like this they are taking care of the insides of the house and their deposit won't cover it. Discuss with him or her the very real possibility that they may be selling drugs and remind him that his property may become involved in some serious criminal activity. The owner will likely take quicker action then local laws and stuff. |
| I also have a 50 year old adolescent next door to me that has the bass cranked way up and it vibrates the hell out of the back bedrooms. I too have contacted the popo for noise, assholes blocking my driveway and the ugliest, noisiest F'N dog I have ever seen all at the same house. I give him a go to hell look and that's all I communicate to them. They don't antagonize me much anymore after a roommate was unleashed upon verbally. It did not escalate to violence but I would have let that LITTLE BASTARD take the first shot and he would have been picking up his teeth off the porch. I feel for you man, sounds like you have it under control. Don't lose your head and the cops will be on your side. |

Call the owner of the house. Tell him his tenant is going to get him at the receiving end of a lawsuit... loss of the use/enjoyment of your home, any damage caused by his psycho tenant, if you're the victim of any violencce by his tenant, when you're forced to defend yourself... With a million dollar beach house, the owner can find someone decent to live there. Oh, and I'd talk to the other neighbors... get everyone on the same wavelength. When he acts up, everyone calls the police. If he does anything to anyone, then all of you stand together. |
Buy them locking fuel caps (you of course keep the keys), it will help for a little while.

You have pretty much done the right thing so far. Getting rid of them will be a process. I for one would never answer the door to him when he is drunk. Call him in to the cops as a burglar/trespasser/peeping tom so he can get arrested. Having the cops deal with this is what you pay taxes for. Getting a restraining order is also good since he will not be able to live next to you without violating it. I don't know what level of proof you need to get and RO but start creating a paper trail of police reports. Calling the landlord may also be good because it sounds like he doesn't want his place trashed. |

I might also mention that the house one more door down was busted for selling pot about 4 months ago. I came home and found a bunch of SWAT guys in my driveway. I asked why they were in my driveway with guns. They point to the house in question and tell me, "drug bust." I parked down the street |

 I don't suppose you would care to elaborate? You can concealed carry on your property, and use lethal force to defend life. Was that just another stab at us? I thought so. Granted, we would love CCW, but I don't see that changing this gents situation.Rob |

Talk to the other neighbors. Maybe some of them will have their lawyer send a nastygram to the landlord when you send yours. You could always find the landlord's number and call it every time this turd starts to bother you. Invite him over to witness his tenant's antics for himself. Don't forget the city can yank a landlord's license to rent. He does have one, doesn't he? Go to them to see what they can do. |
