Little history of myself first. 24 yrs old, 150lbs, blood pressure is usually 105/70 area. I'd like to say I'm in ok shape. I can run a mile in 7:30 and try to be active. My only known problem (besides knees) is that I was diagnosed with narcolepsy.
Now to the point. Whenever I do a workout, no matter how hard I push myself, I get dizzy, my entire body starts tingling (like when a leg falls asleep), feel like passing out, and feel like I'll get sick. I've had my blood sugar tested before and it was low from what the pharmacist told me. It was taken in the morning and I had eaten and all I remember was the number being 38. From what I looked up (if I'm interpreting it right) that is quite low for being taken after eating. I've been told by others to eat a candy bar or something with sugar before working out, but it doesn't seem to help. |

If you ingest a slew of carbs before working out you are setting yourself up for your BS to drop like a rock. You need to see a doc, but if you want to lift weights, you may have to back load carbs. I mean, go ULC until an hour after your workout. By doing that, your body shouldn't be dumping insulin out like crazy and your BS should normalize during the day and while you work out your body will be using the glycogen from muscle stores for energy. You need to see a doc though. I would get a BS meter and see what your numbers are before bed and then in the AM. |
| I had an EKG done about 2 years ago for chest pains. They come randomly and hit me hard, maybe last between 2-10 seconds, but it came back normal. I haven't had my blood pressure tested right afterwards, but think my dad has something I can borrow so I can see what it comes back as. |

Quoted: Take it from someone who just had a mechanical heart valve installed. I recommend that you see a cariologist as soon as possible. There will be an echocardiogram and a treadmill stress test in your near future. Your life may very well depend on it. good luck. Listen to this guy. I know a guy who was a world class gymnast but couldn't run a mile without getting totally gassed. When he was about 60 they finally figured out he had a valve problem and fixed it.

BG monitor is a good idea though. The biggest problem is that you have described aortic stenosis symptoms. |
