What's a good free program to open these files? I downloaded a radio broadcast and have no way of opening it; I want to burn it to a CD

Yep.

Before 7zip, I used winrar but honestly 7zip is the bee's knees.

been using winrar for years, see no reason to switch since it does what I need and I'm used to the interface
newer versions are multithreaded to take advantage of multicore CPUs

I know 7zip is used a lot so it would surprise me if they hadn't also made their app multithreaded so it will likely come down to which interface you like more
