"The heights of human progress and human arrogance alike have one and the same source: Our very human expectation that everything in the world ought to make perfect sense to us.

With great irrationality that paradoxically leads to great accomplishment, much of the human species hopes and demands that the human brain––three pounds of tissue and water about the size of two fists placed side by side—be capable of accessing, processing, and understanding every fact and truth in G-d’s immeasurably vast and complex material and spiritual universe."

I believe that the heights of human progress and human arrogance have another source also, and that is the fear of being left behind.

If we as humans expect that everything in this world should make perfect sense to us and left to our own understanding then we as humans will eventually destroy the earth and one another with much evidence of that happening all over the globe today.

The Old Testament prophets have made it very clear.

The eventual formation of a one world government which is in the wings of the world's geopolitical arena now is evidenced by a few powerfull men and women who are identified as wealthy and highly influential individuals, members of secret or private orginizations, members only. Some of these dating back hundereds of years from all over this world and many originating from european stock formerly, desire to subdue the world's masses through technology and up to and including military force, and the relinquishment of goods and sevices if need be to accomplish their goals of world domination.

They also see that the world's enormous populations of today with it's nearly seven billion people now at numbers that are becomming increasingly unstable and uncontrollable to manage as statistics indicate, and will be subject in the near future to shortages in food, energy, medicine, general healthcare and sustainable jobs to go around to make stable economies.

Now in my opinion this is supreme arrogance.

However God in His foreknowing wisdom very well did know all about this situation with exacting detail even before He ever laid the first foundation stone to His great planet.

These things will in time and in fact usher in ''change'' but certainly this will indeed not be ''change'' that some of our world leaders are talking about now.

On the contrary.

And even thousands of years earlier God did and has already spoken and judged through the prophet,'' How hard will it be for the potter to smash His defective pottery with a rod of iron?''

The Word of the Almighty says not that hard.

I tend to agree.

Sounds good to me, would you place the root of the problem at apostate human autonomy?

I would place the root of this issue squarely on the shoulders of the spirit of anti-Christ in which God's Word says is already in the world.

Tell me if you will?

How can we identify this spirit and where does this spirit come from?

I would try to understand the law of God, and anything that violates that would be the spirit of anti-Christ. For sin is the transgrssion of the law. An at the root of sin is human autonomy.

Having the right or power to rule oneself is not sin if it is the law of the land is practiced in such a way that all of it's people recieve justice, fairness through equity, dignified peace through member's of that society's gracious display of honor, integrity and love toward others and the right to prosper without hinderance if that were also the law of the land.

What is so sinful and anti-Christ about that?

I  actually was't talking specially about political rule, but Christ is the king of everything, that would be every endeavor of man.  The first sin in the Garden was a dethroning of God, and an enthroning of man, and his reason.

How was God dethroned?

From the perspective Adam and Eve,  God was no longer the place of ultimacy, the referrence point of knowing, they became their own ultimate referrence.  You can see this in all humanistic systems.  Man in some sense ( it can be veiled, for instance, in different religions ) is the measure of all things.  God in reality still sits on the throne, (every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess),  men because they are rebels refuse to acknowledge Him, but they will, one way or another.

Do you think that, that thing which happened with the original two was indeed God's plan that they rebel, or do you believe that the first senario of mankind living in a perfect setting and in communion with God, was God's intention to have face-to-face continuity through fellowship and provision with them and for them throughout eternity?

In other words do you believe that a change in plans which did in fact occur, concerning the first two met with God the Father's approval and was indeed His will for whatever reason or reasons?

Yes I believe the scriptures clearly teach that in God's eternal decree (or plan) that He purposed evil.  All things are to His glory.

Please read Acts 4:25-28, Pr 16:4

I believe the scriptures teach a difference between God's provdential  will ( or His secret will ), and His revealed will ( the 10 commandments).

[#15]
So you believe that God has a revealed as well as an unrevealed will?
7/4/2009 3:21:07 PM EDT
[#16]
His providential will we see in hindsight, He governs the entirety of His universe behind the scenes so to speak.  The ultimate purpose is to perfect all ( especially a people ) to His glory.  We do see Him working out in the open from time to time in the scriptures.  A fulfillment of His commandments in and by us is one of His ultimate goals.  Heb 1:3

Through faith a christian should be able to see and expect God's providential will in foresight.
