I was just thinking about where things are heading, and the idea of Democrats being considered "progressive" seems quite opposite of the facts.
Consider stuff like killing the F-22, reducing our nuclear arsenal and cutting missile defense, removing radiation detectors from cities, etc.. It reminds me of 1984, how they were always at war yet technology didn't continue to progress. They actually had gone backwards, fighting wars with minimal technology, so the wars would keep going with no clear winners. Meanwhile they waged a cold war of controlling their own citizens. Then we have lack of funding for nuclear waste disposal while also proposing to regulate coal power out of existence, cap and trade, etc. Combine that with class warfare and government medling in the economy(like screwing secured lenders), and nobody will be able to afford simple things like heat and a/c, not to mention other items that are energy-intensive to make. Think about how every time a heat wave, extreme cold, or major storm hits certain parts of the country and how we always hear about old people dying and stuff like that... that will become normal, not just rare occurences. I'm rambling a bit, I haven't taken the time to really think this through in detail, but it's clear they really are going to take us back to the stone-age. Progressive my ass. |

They hate the technology that has improved the internal combustion engine, the coal fired power plant, and the nuclear power plant. They have this fixation with windpower, which is about as regressive as you can get, for "evironmentalists" that claim to love birds. |

WINNER! this started wth Roosevelt,,that would be TR The Lion, continued with Wilson, on to FDR and died off a bith with the war when the people realized we were just as bad as the Nazis in Germany were, though it would have been ideal to totally Nationalize Business with the war effort remember many folks of the Progressive/Liberal bent, were buddy buddy with Hitler, Ford, Kennedy, Rockefeller, whos childran are seen as "liberals" today,,are not, they are Facists as is Obama, Kennedy, Pelosi, Ried, Clinton, Hillary, Bill is a Socialist/whoredog, Frank and trust me Gore is not out of the picture, many others in positions of power with in the Dem party free and right thinking people are screwed at this point IF we can not get things turned in 2012, welcome to Full blown Facist AMerica the POWER they are implying in use of Green as the new Religion, control and steady denouncement of Christianity, attacks on free speach and conservative speach especially are the tools they are successfully using..

A friend of mine describes himself on his facebook page as a "Progressive Republican"
I was like, wtf is that about bro? He said he supported gay marriage, and mandatory community service for high school kids to do shit around the town so they build a work ethic and don't become useless, but wasn't sure where he stood on abortion, agreeing with me where I said it's only acceptable in rape cases, not a birth control method for fuck ups that don't want to take responsibility for themselves and their actions. Then he said something about supporting an adoption program to replace Roe v. Wade. He claimed that he wants to get into politics after a career in law enforcement. I wished him well. I don't agree with the mandatory labor, but him being protestant, he has that "I must work or I'm useless" work ethic. Personally I find myself doubting of his success in that area. |
