There is a protest still going on right now outside my place of employment. I am the supervisor of security on site so figured I should be here today.
Funny observation. The protest started at 1200 and was scheduled to go to 1500. There were probably about 60 cars that brought in over 100 people. The news crews showed up right around 1215. The news crews were gone by 1300. By 1330 the protest was down to 10 vehicles and maybe 2 dozen people. Funny how once your chance of being on the news and getting some attention is gone you no longer care... Oh, and while they were all protesting outside, many employees elected to come in on their day off to continue their annual tradition of baking heart cookies to sell on valentines day with all proceeds going to cancer charities... Nice huh? |

If you dont want a high utility bill, dont use as much energy. Do they think the utility is going to lose money to make them happy?
When an avalanche cut the transmission lines from a hydro power plant that supplied the city of Juneau AK with electricity, the utility switched to diesel generators which cost 5x as much as hydro power. The people of Juneau didn't stage protests or beg the government to help them, they cut back their consumption by 80% for a few months. Peoples' energy bills and the utility's revenues were almost the same as before the avalanche. This was in the winter, about this time last year. |

Reminds me of when I workd on the PA Bear program taking biological and teeth samples at the check stations and the protesters would show up screaming about cruelty to animals, until I pointed out that thier leather Reeboks didn't grow on trees.  And while your at it, you might just want to jump back in your Lexus and drive back to Jersey and NYC, right after you rip off the leather steering wheel cover. "Practice what you preach and then we'll talk.", is what I always said.
Hell I didn't even hunt the bears and they would be screaming at me

Funny story, Before the PA. Game Commission outlawed PETA protesting in the woods.
Me and my brother were spread out on the same ridge hunting, we were within sight of each other, Me with my .30-06 him with his 300WM. So we hear them maybe thousand yards maximum down the valley coming, a buck charges out up the bottom towards me from the noise, I fire, good solid hit, but the deer does not go down immediately because his adrenaline is pumping from the Morons for the ethical treatment animals scaring the shit out of it!!! So my Brother fires at it a second time(Does not matter as we Share what we potted anyway with each others families) Blows it right off it's feet!! So we hear the lead moron scream "Hurry up lets get up their before the murders can retrieve the poor thing!" Me and my brother look at each other, we are maybe 100 yards apart and getting ready to head down to the buck we killed. When here comes MORON "Numba Wun" Running towards the deer with his stragglers following him yelling "There it is ! Help me drag it!" Before i can see what my brother is doing..I hear BAMMM!!!! and a 8 inch round Maple tree in front of the lead moron by maybe 15 yards shatters....... It looked like one of those scooby doo cartoons when they turned around and headed back the way they came, man could that fucker run. They only protested in my area one year like this before the State of Pennsylvania outlawed such protest. It was in a well hunted area of Moshannon state forest, down by Knobs road. They are still in my area , i was actually shocked to find any out here as my County is the hicks from the Sticks of Pennsylvania. But one of the chicks writes letters to the editor of the news paper (The Progress)protesting how cruel the petting Zoo at our county fair is, and how it degrades the dignity of the animals to pen them up for long hours and have people touching them. |

In the summer my electric bill climbs to $220-$250 as I have a stay-at-home wife. Her hobby it seems is running the (hot) water.  Here's what I don't understand about women (work and home). In the winter, if I set the thermostat at 66* when I go to work my wife complains that when she gets home- house is too cold. In the summer 66* would be great. The 74* that would be great for her in the winter is too hot in the summer.
