Any of you guys do this? or have seen Punkin Chunkin? IT looks like a serious blast, I wish I could get to go see one sometime. It would be cool to see an ARFCOM effort. |
| I was there two years ago, and it was great. Its definitely a good family event, there is a lot to do besides watch the contest. They have some carnival rides, vendors with some pretty cool stuff, and mabye live music (I might be confusing this part with something else). It was great to see the various launchers in action. |
There was a show on one of the cable channels where they showed the world record holding air cannon shooting a solid rubber ball over 1.5 miles . The pumpkins are the weak link because they break up from the air resistance if they push them much past 50% of the launchers capability

That's why they use those hard, green ones. I'd hate to be where they LAND, though!

Anyone else come in here expecting to see destroyed pumpkins?? Lest anyone else get disappointed...Not 'chunking' but smashing nonetheless |
