Can I pick up a purchase permit for a hand gun from any local police station or does it have to be my hometowns police station?

Thanks, Keving67

Needs to be the local boys. Seems they need the chance to check the local run sheets to see if you're a malcontent.

No permit with CPL (but still need "safety" inspection).

I always shudder when someone posts a question like this.

Even in this demented loony bin of Kalifornistan the idea of having to go to the cops and ask permission to buy a gun is beyond insanity.  The stupid Handgun Safety Certificate is bullshit enough.

I REALLY feel for you guys in states that make gun-owners beg like that.

This is my first hand gun.  All I need is the purchase permit right?  After I get the gun, then I take it back to them for a safety inspection?

Can you imagine what we here in Virginia think of this?

Missouri is pretty much the same.

Yep.  Once you get the permit it is valid for ten days.  Then after the purchase date, you have ten days to get it inspected/registered.
