I was just curious if anyone in the past has purchased a car though this deployed program? I am not looking for details on new vs used buying a vehicle, I just want to know how the process went, if you where treated fairly, got the deal they stated, pick up went smoothly etc. If you have please send me a message or post in here.
And I just noticed my membership has expired, guess I should go re-up and visit the site more! |

I'm not overly impressed by the AAFES car sales program, if that's what you're referring to. I bought a Jeep through them a number of years ago, and was disappointed by the service, and the price wasn't spectacular. Unless you're looking at a rare US-manufactured car that US dealers won't deal on, you can usually get a better deal negotiating back stateside.
If you're referring to other programs that European manufacturers offer, there are some great deals to be had. Volvo probably offers the best discounts, and BMW has some good deals as well. |
| I bought a dodge ram through them. the whole process was very smooth for me, and the sales rep was easy to work with. The price was pretty good, the thing I really liked was that the manufacture built the vehicle with the exact features I wanted and none of the ones I didn't, and when I got back from my deployment it was waiting at the dealer for me to pick up. |
| I bought a motorcycle through the program in late 2003-early 2004. Super easy. I went in, said what I wanted, they guy said ok we'll give you a call in a week or two. A week or two later I got a call, went in, confirmed the details, paid with a check, told them what dealer I wanted it shipped to for pick-up, and that was it. Took maybe 30 minutes combined total. |
