Souldn't they be charged with holding someone against their will, or kidnapping?

They are denying free movement. What about the people who are on their way to the hospital, or ambulances being delayed?

And if they could be charged, would it be a seperate charge for each person delayed? That could stack up pretty good.

Kidnapping would be a stretch depending on the specific elements in each state. No DA is gonna want to follow that up in court, they typically dismiss the charges made against people during protest situations anyways. They are impeding traffic which is probably the more appropriate charge. Everyone physically blocking traffic should be arrested....that is not a lawful or peaceful protest. But yeah, those officers allowing it to happen are probably being ordered to do so which sucks.

I'm all for peaceful assembly and protest which is your constitutional right....however someone's right to assemble cannot interfere with someone else's right to drive to the grocery store or take their kids to school. That's why those people should be arrested, regardless of the message they are trying to get heard.
