I was considering getting my CCW before the 0bama regime kicks in, but then got to wondering. If they do start rounding up the handguns, wouldn't they start with the CCWs first? Is a CCW a backdoor gun registration or am I being paranoid.

From a fellow Coloradoan

Yes, you're being waaaaaaayyy too paranoid.

Take the tin-foil hat off, get out of your mom's basement and get your CCW

yes  in someways it is.  But so is having a hunting license right? But if it did come to that they only know that you have one gun.

Get your CCW.

The more people that have them, the less likely the congress critters will want to take the risk of losing that much support by messing with them.

CCW is a state thing.  Go get your CCW and be happy.

I hate to burst your bubble, but ALL guns these days are registered when you buy them. 4473s are kept forever. So unless the gunstore you bought the guns from burns down and the paperwork is destroyed, you're on paper anyway.

Someone will be along to correct you shorly, which will end in a fight.

That is how it was explained to me. What is wrong about that statement? Other than FTF transactions all guns bought these days are on a form 4473.

Or if nothing else by the time they are rendered illegal you will at least have had a couple of years experience learning to carry legally without printing and being confident in carrying.

Get the CCW!  If you don't get it based on fears about the future, you are capitulating to a hypothetical situation.

By the way, after experimenting with four or five other CCW carry methods, I bought the DeSantis Apache Ankle Rig on Saturday.  I wore it for eight hours on Sunday and for eight hours today, Monday.

Now I can finally fulfill my duty to conceal carry every day with a system that is completely comfortable all day long.  This pic is from the DeSantis web site and shows it with a Glock 26, but I carry a Ruger LCP because it is so much lighter and thinner than my Glock 26.

My Dad is in CO and just took a class and turned in his CCW application.

He really enjoyed the class and I suggest you do the same!

My FL-non res CCW came in the mail today, so glad to finally have the ability to carry. It's nice to have that piece of mind

Get it! I've had mine for a little over a year now and it is the best feeling int the world to know you have that back up in case you need it. Where in CO are you? I live on the north end of the Springs now but I used to live on the south end, kind of a shady neighberhood if you know what I mean. I dont go out of my appartment without it now.
