If an act involves any sort of dancing or bouncing about the stage, it'll be prerecorded. You can't dance like that and sing at the same time, and audiences for those kinds of artists expect/pay for the dancing. It part of the show.
Swift doesn't have a aweful voice, but she also doesn't sound anything like her studio work. Its mearly normal, the kind of voice that wouldn't get you on American Idol. Her act has never really been about her voice, though now has it? |

| Earlier in her career (she's still young) she absolutely sucked singing live. She lost pitch like a mofo. She's gotten better, but they seem to have increased the frequency of her lip syncing. Personally, I just find her annoying, but she's definitely very pretty and talented. |

Seems to me like she is pretty nice in person. |

Now that we are on the subject of syncronising music to dances and shit like that... I wonder about Lindsey Stirling. How does one manage to play a violin whilst they do ballerina shit?
I'm not bothered by the possibility that it is a recording, especially given how flexible her legs are, but I still wonder someimes... ETA: I need a personal demonstraion of both Lindsey and Taylor's talents before I can make up my mind.

One issue is that due to the live nature of the show and the cussing of the stars, they started running a delay and I think that causes problems. After watching a number of her performances, I believe she is genuine.

She seems serious about what she does. In this day and age, I have to wonder who is real and who isn't. It seems like technology has made it easier for people to fake talent. It's a shame that the same technology isn't used as a means to enhance talent on a more wide spread basis. |

Amazing that she is worth north of 200 million. Not amazing at all, she writes (and owns) her own songs and they sell like fucking hotcakes. She isn't splitting any of the proceeds with a third party writer. It's all hers. I say good on her. She found she has something people want and provided it in spades. |

Some of the articles I have read indicate that Pink says she sings better upside down as she does not have to look at the crowd. After watching her circus act shows I can believe it. I know a lot of people also are against Auto-Tune in live performances. It does seem like cheating if you cannot do it without the help. But then again we have photoshop for photographers, and magicians use smoke and mirrors.

She told her very discreetly that the fake nose she had on as a disguise was slightly crooked, and she got an embarrassed smile and "Thanks". |
