I have a delima. I am looking at getting the Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6 mounted on a MI QD mount, On top of a 6920.

My question is will the front sight post be an issue?
Or will the 1× setting Co witness while 2× and up focus past the post?

Or will I need to remove the post?

You will probably see a shadow at 1 or 2x...beyond that don't worry about it.

You do not have to remove the front sight

FPNI

At most, it's visible at 1, but a blur, and not really part of your sight picture. Your focal range of your scope is well past the front sight. At higher settings, it disappears altogether.

Don't worry about it.

You can see the full front sight post at 1x.

I have a strike Eagle, I'll go mount an A2 sight post really quick and snap a pic.

Alright, so I remember that I had an old AR circa 2007 that still has an A2 front post and I put a strike Eagle behind it.

Forgive the blue haze and parallax, it's mounted behind a holosight on a gun propped up by a bath robe.

1x will co-witness, but not completely, it's more of a 1/3 co-witness. At 2x there's a haze of front sight post, beyond that you're good.

Thanks!

Does it completely disappear at 2 and above?

And how do you think this combination would work? How do you like the scope?

That's a lot clearer then i thought it would be, but I suppose it's not different at 1x then looking through an aimpoint.
