If i was living in the states and wanted to IMPORT a box full of Browning HP magazines, what kind of paperwork would that involve? Form 6 or is it form 6 just for firearms? Anyone know, a quick answer would really rock! Thanks. HUNTER. ETA: these would be 13 rnd mags. ETA1, i realize this might not be the ideal place to post this, but the way i figured it, some of the guys who post here know a great deal about laws, i hope i don't piss anyone off. Thanks again and mods feel free to lock this thread if you feel it's out of place. |

I don't have any direct knowledge of the US side, but seem to recall that there was some formal process and bureaucracy to go thru. BUT, it will also depend on the laws in the country they are exported from. As a current "live example", I bought a Sphinx AT-2000P on New Years Eve Day and asked the president of Sphinx if he could bring some mags over to the Shot Show if I prepaid them and he could give them to a friend who was attending the Shot Show for me. He informed me that Switzerland considers magazines as "war material" and there is a long, convoluted process to export any gun mags from Switzerland. Short answer was no dice on my request. So first I'd check with the country they'd be coming from, and second with the US State Department and/or US Customs (which seems to manage the paperwork on "controlled items" coming into the US). |
