OK so if some person at the EU in Brussels wants legislation to make 80% of corporate boards female, what is the process of making that happen by legislation in EU member countries?

I think it goes like this.
The EU parliment drafts the legistlation. They then vote on it. Then it goes to the EU council. After that it goes to the national parliments to vote on it. If they pass it it goes to the upper houses of parliment and then to the head of state. Sometimes depending on the legislation there has to be a referendum (this happens pretty frequently in Ireland, very rarely in most of the other countries). |
