I went to the gun store today and found one in 9mm for $700.  I'm in love.

This will be my first handgun and I'd like to know if this is the best price I can get.  Keep in mind that I've got a limited budget, so I'd like to find the best price I can.

Thanks.

ETA: Please remember that I'm also in CA.

Girls are fickle.. just a few months ago it was "I love the SKS.. I love the Beretta Cougar.. I love the Remington 870"

Man, couldn't they be more like men: "I love guns!"

$700 is WAY to high.

Yea, that's what I was thinking.. But then again add that the store generally is tagged at 10% above the selling price (I guess to give gratification when people "haggle" ten percent off the sticker) and in CA. Everything is more expensive here.

That's what I was thinking.  Figured I'd leave it to the pros (I.E. you guys) to find a better deal.

Even at 10% over the selling price that is tooooo high.

A word of advice to him… I have both a P239 and P229 IMO unless you have really small hands I would just skip the P239 and get a P229. The P239 is not that much smaller and in only thinner in the grip. Even though you cannot get high capacity mags in CA yo might move one day.

I'm a woman, hence the small hands and desire for a 9mm gun.

Then that is probably the way you should go... but handle both before you decide my hands are small and the p229 gave me no problem, the P229 handles recoil real well I bet you would not have any problem with it.

Maybe look for a P255 than instead . CDNN has turn ins for dirt cheap .

+1 on the 225. 225 is just as thin as the 239. it's got a nice look to it though. I'm not particularly fond of the 239. It truly is a tiny little shit. I tinkered with one at the gun range a while back. Almost the entire gun was dwarfed by my hand.

CDNN +1

They have great deals on both new and trade-in SIG's.  I got my P229 from them for less than $400, it has extremely slight wear on the slide from the holster, otherwise it's brand new.

check some local shops, i got a 239 used at Gander Mountain and overpaid for its almost NIB look.  i paid 450.  it was too much, but i could see it before buying it and it was truly as good as new, appeared to have hardly been fired, if at all.
