If I format an mp3 file as a tc volume would I be able to add that mp3 to my ipod, or would itunes reject it?
I don't care if it's not efficient or stupid, this is strictly for curiosity's sake. |

Or, do you mean, if you create a TrueCrypt volume and name it something.mp3 and drag it into iTunes and to an iPod could you use it? The latter? No. You'd be able to store a file on an iPod but iTunes messes with media files before putting them on an iPod so the volume would be corrupted. Use a different file type if you want to do that, like a PDF file. There are ways to mount an iPod just like a drive on a computer, you could copy the volume on to an iPod and store it there. (You probably couldn't open it, but you could copy to a different PC and mount it with TrueCrypt.
