Just started watching the show this season it is great.
What is Jack Baurs background was he ex special forces or something someone please clue me in.

His background isn't covered very well, but in season 2 they did say that he was a top secret operator with I think an Army unit. It was mostly something to do with a tattoo on his right forearm and ID'ing some badguys.

Damn thats the military profile for half the posters on this site. Every time some one asks they say "super secret army special forces I cant talk about it". Perhaps Jack also served with the elite spaceshuttle door gunner unit

Go to a gunshow, you'll find lots of operators like that.

I'm sure in the real world there are some that have that and more.
