I am guessing the tired feeling goes away when you are being shot at.

First up, why?

Nausea? Dunno.

I'm going to guess they were running on enough adrenaline to kill a rhino.

i just put on a fresh pot of coffee on.

Don't you want to sleep?

Any advice?

You'll be fine for a few hours after the worst is over. I can't remember what it's called but there is a time between like 3 and 5 AM (?) that you need sleep most... Once you get past that time you'll be OK.

Last time I pulled an all-nighter I went to work and nodded off standing up. I was a fish cutter and would fall asleep cutting fish... I woke up when my chin hit my chest. But once I got past a certain point of exhaustion, I actually wasn't too bad. Tired, obviously, but still functioning.

27 hours?  What, are you some kind of kid?  My record is 84 hours.

After the first day, I was constantly hungry.  After 36 hours, humor was easy.  Evverything was funny.  After day two, I was getting punchy.  By 72 hours, I started to feel normal again.

Once that week was over, I called my parents, told them I was going to be gone for a day and not to worry.  Slept from thursday afternoon to friday night.

In the Army, I did 60 hours.  When Top found out (it was the CO who requested my presence, not contacting the XO who knew I had pulled double shift of CQ, then mobilized to the field), he gave me 2 days off, IN THE FIELD!  And started Art.15 against some drunk who took a swing at me when I suggested that he should be quiet at 2300 in the field barracks.

Yeah, having Germans chew up my bulge would probably keep me awake, too.

One, two, Freddy's coming for you.
Three, four, better lock your door.
Five, six, grab your crucifix.
Seven, eight, gonna stay up late.
Nine, ten, never sleep again….
