The wife and I (no children) are considering relocating to Denver and would like to know about the neighborhoods around the downtown area. Which are recommeded, and which to avoid? For those worth to live in, what is the average rent for a two bedroom apartment?

Thanks in Advance

I used to live there and I lived off S. University  just south of Cherry Creek.  Nice area and close to downtown.  I'll let the "CO Natives" chime in and suggest some other areas.

ETA: post this in the CO htf for more help

i live in aurora, which is only about a half hour outside of down town, its a pretty nice area of town, so long as you stay out of north aurora.  nice apartments are around 1000 a month (or atleast thats what my buddys was)

There is a "local AWB" in Denver.  I recommend selecting a different municipality in the Denver metro area.

Maybe Arvada, Westiminster, Cherry Creek, Littleton, Englewood, or Wheat Ridge.  It will depend on where you're going to work, what you like to do, and what kind of neighborhood you like and/or can afford.

ETA: I realize this question is for Denver residents...I'm in unincorporated JeffCo to the SW of the metro area.  Close enough to be in the Denver area a fair amount.

You'll doubtless get more useful information in the CO hometown forum.  That said, Denver city and county sucks.  It's bigtime donkey blue.  They have weapons restrictions, unlike the rest of the state.

I lived in Cherry Creek for a few years with my parents, and then Aurora (now Centennial) while stationed at Buckley.

I would try to look at the SW suburbs.

Five Points just north of Downtown Denver is a no go.  Serious do not go there after dark!   There is tons of new apartments around Downtown that would e great.  Just make sure they have safe parking.
