I noticed an interesting trend
over the last couple of weeks.

You are not guarenteed to get
your movies in the queue order
even if their availability is
listed as "Now." Three times now
in the last two weeks, I've gotten
stuff out of order.

I think that I know the reason,
too. Not every title is stored at
all of the distro sites. I think
that NetFlix takes shipping time
and queue order into account
when determining which items to
ship. I have a distro located in
S. Vermont, therefore, I get
titles in one day. The titles that
keep getting skipped are new
to NetFlix (but old titles) which
leads me to believe that they
have not been sent to all of the
distros.

Anyone else notice this problem?

I just joined about a month ago. I get most things in one day out of Dayton. I'm curious to see what happens when a "very long wait" item makes it to the top of my que.

It is skipped and the next
item with availablity of "Now"
is shipped instead.

BTW, an interesting point
is that NetFlix gives preference
to new members, so my bet
is that you won't see a "Very
Long Wait" for a while.

For the first 1-2 months of my membership, I would mail back a movie on Monday, they would receive and ship a new one Tuesday, and I would have it Wednesday. Now I send it back Monday, they say they get it on Wednesday (if lucky), they ship one out on Thursday or Friday and I end up getting it on Monday.

Think I will be canceling my membership soon (maybe re-joining).

I think they have a distro center in Baltimore.

If I put a DVD in my mailbox on Friday, I get a ship notice on the next one that night, and frequently get the DVD the next damn day! (never more than two days, and never out of order)

I think you're right about Baltimore.

I'm in No. VA, too, and I always get my first picks, fast.

I have experienced weird things also.  At the beginning I would ship out on Monday and receive next movie on Wednesday.  Now it is more like Ship on Monday and receive on Friday.  They seem to make everything look good at beginning and then screw you guys.  I cancelled on them b4.  Maybe I should not have returned.  Get lots of DVD scratched to point where they skip during the movie.  I will drop them soon.
