Do yall stick to just those lifts each week?I am on my 5th or so workout using 5x5 and I know it is going to get tougher, but do you guys/gals do any cardio or small muscle work after?

I have been back at the gym since the end of January. Dropped about 6-7lbs, but fairly big difference in fat to muscle. Clothes fit better, back into 32" waist jeans, feel better, more stamina, etc. I like 5x5 so far, it just seems a little light.

Stick to the program. Unless you are way to sore to lift. Don't hurt yourself. Add pull-ups, push-ups, curls, skull crushers, and dips. Cardio is for cutting. And cutting is for quitters. With the accessory lifts, you might not have the energy to pull off too much cardio.

So do you do some small lifts every time you work out?

Accessories? Yes. After the main lifts.

Go into the stronglifts 5x5 app and add them in. They'll drop in on the right day. Then adjust the weight to being very low. Start small and work your way up.

Yep got that app. Tomorrow will be the 5th workout. Following the app diligently, I thought I read where he didn't recommend doing accessory lifts in addition to the A or B. I must have been wrong.

Focus on the main stuff, dead, squat, bench and overhead press.  Use accessories to supplement when you find weak points in the main lifts to help you perform the main lifts better.

But if you're really getting after it you might not have much left in the tank after the main lifts.

I run 6 to 10 miles a week on top of the 5X5.  I started the 5X5 very light, empty bar on some of the exercises.  I am on week 9 and have now started to miss reps on all of the exercises.  I have gone back 10% on the overhead press too.  I did add curls to one workout and planks to the other.

I started with a weight loss group in February, with my main exercise being running.  I started 5X5 in April and I am down 30 lbs total so far.

ETA: missed reps on all the exercises except dead lifts.  For some reason I'm good at them.
