Are the Beretta 92FS mags made of stainless steel?   I am having a difficult time drilling a small hole in the front of a new Beretta 92 mag so it will work with my CZ999 pistol.   I know others have done this successfully.  My drill bits are bouncing off.   Is that stainless steel under the flat, black paint?   If so, I am off to the hardware store to get a stainless steel-capable bit, I guess.

I make no claim to being an ace gunsmith but.....damn......I should be able to drill a simple small round hole in a magazine mounted in a good vice.  So, what's a good brand of bits for a standard shank drill for this little job?  Obviously a bit set rated for steel, I assume.

First use a punch to make a small indentation where the hole is going to be.  Then use the smallest drill bit you have.  Any hole after that will stay centered and cut through like butter.
