I am not complaining one bit, this is just a question. I have seen in the past a few times that threads are closed due to the request of the person who started it. Is there certain criteria that needs to be met before this happens? Or will a simple request satisfy? I have seen it where the thread takes a turn for the south and has 100% nothing to do with what the original topic was about. I have also seen it where people who started a thread either lost ground or became 'unpopular' or the general consensus (sp?) is that they were wrong or similar. I am just curious. Seems like a good thing if someone has posted themselves into a corner Thanks. Keep up the good work. We know this stuff takes up valuable time! Chris |

threads are owned by the topic starter. if they request it to be locked, we lock it. most other threads are locked when they become pissing matches with no vaild dialog, or wastes of bandwidth. they may also be locked at the discression of staff and mods if they are no appropriate for the forum or community. mike |

Well Ziti...I've IM'd you, but apparently you prefer the guise of, hmmm...anonymity. <snort> I requested my thread to be shut down right after the "abortion" comment someone made because I knew what would happen--not because of anything you said (82nd will back that up). But, since the world revolves around you and everything you do: I didn't lose ground...you were making it personal As I said in IM: if you speak in bullsh*t, that's all I am gonna hear. You want to try and have a discussion without digging on the individual, fine I am all open for it...but quit your whining and lobbying for support under the guise of "oh gee, what're the rules again? I've only been here 2 years and am clueless." |
