I used to be really big into computers and keeping up with the latest hardware and specs.  No all my time and effort goes into guns and Arfcom.

I am looking at getting a new Hard Drive.  My motherboard is SATA I or 150 or what ever it is, the first one.  Will a SATA 300 drive work in my computer? Obviously I know the Hard Drive would only run as fast as the motherbard.

Thanks

you might need an adapter to go from 4 pin molex to the sata power connector, for some reason they changed the power plug in addition to the data connector. it took a while for power supplies to start including sata power connectors on a few of the sets of wires

you might also have to jumper the driver down to 150 speed in order for it to be seen in the bios.  check the documentation

Add a 3.3v line and maybe drop the 12v line some day
