I picked up two Cisco 1900s today for a personal project I'm working on. I can't find my DB9 to RJ45 adaptor. Haven't used it in years, and haven't done much with cisco in years. Is there a way i can connect to the console port without that adaptor? crossover or straight through Cat5 cable? I already checked local stores, and no one has the adaptors in stock.

I am pretty sure you need their console cable to connect to the console.  I've never seen any other way to do it.

I think Sun Console cable adapters work as well (the silver ones).  This link might help roll your own.

Try this website to make your own patch cable (regular crossover cables and straight through wont work).

Damn that looks like a pain in the ass.  I'm glad I keep the real thing lying around.

Saw that one. It still requires the use of a DB9 to RJ45, which I do not have. Looks like i'll be making a trip to radio shack tomorrow. Wish me luck! lol...
