I don't realy save any money, I just shoot more.  My relaods can beat any factory ammo when it comes to accuracy.  My personnal best is 5 shots @ 100yrds within a penny, and 10 shots @ 300yrds in 3 MOA.  Well worth it in my book.

Indeed, I can load match grade ammo for about $0.25 per round where as factory match ammo is $1.00 per round. Plus, my ammo is taloired to my gun. More than cost effective.

Also, I can load many more types of bullets than is readily availible with factory ammo. Not to mention that its a nice hobby within a hobby. There is a lot of freedom with regards to ammo when you reload, especially for a cartridge like the .223.

If I would get a second job at minimum wage and spend as much time at that as I do reloading I could buy all match ammo and be money ahead.

It is more therapeutic than flipping burgers though.

ditto on the above comments. You really won't save money. You will shoot much more and have higher quality ammo.

You americans are lucky. IN my country each 20 round box of .223 ammo costs 10 US $!!!

I made a calculation that reloading brought me to cut off costs for 9 mm. of ONE FOURTH!
And I hope to reduce costs for 223 Rem. from a minimum of 50% to a max of One Third...

If you do a direct cost comparison for ammo vs. reloads. I have found i can reload 1000 rnds for slightly less than 1/2 of the cost of the same round. The reloads do have the benefit of bieng tuned for the rifle which gives them an edge in accuracy as well.
