Does it really exist? Who has first-hand experience with this phenomenon?

It comes from not understand their physical limitations, and being completely unaware that they can hurt themselves permanently.
Same reason cats seem so strong for their size. They hold absolutely nothing back when they feel threatened, where you would make an effort not to break your own bones, pull joints out of sockets, break your teeth, etc. |
| I used to work for the mental health dept. and witnessed it a lot. Worked a day program where some of the higher functioning ones would push toothbrush blister packs into a sealing machine. One of the guys put his hands in and they were being smashed by the machine. He just stood there looking at it. Once at lunch one of the more violent females threw a chair at one of the blind guys. He never saw it coming. |
well, this thread is ummm
but to answer your question, one friend of mine while not mentally challenged so much had a problem where he has no nerve endings in his extremities. He could fell no pain at all, he did things like put a full hot car cigarette lighter into his arm and didn't flinch, cut into his bone with a circular saw while cutting a piece of plywood resting on his legs. those things I witnessed and holy shit balls. so the one time I saw him get into a fight in anger he went nuts he could feel no pain in his hands of from the blows he took and he ended up breaking both his hands in a bunch of places just wailing on the guy. he won. as for extra strength he didn't have it, but since he felt no pain like you or I do he could go way farther than you or I. |

Retard: Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrgh!
C-3PO: He made a fair move. Screaming about it can't help you. Han Solo: Let him have it. It's not wise to upset a Retard. C-3PO: But sir, nobody worries about upsetting a droid. Han Solo: That's 'cause droids don't pull people's arms out of their sockets when they lose. Retards are known to do that. Retard: Grrf. C-3PO: I see your point, sir. I suggest a new strategy, R2: let the Retard win. |

Solid evidence. |

Cops come about every other month to the home nearby with mentally challenged people living in it.
Last time a cop was being treated for injuries from the temper tantrum one of the occupants throws regularly. The key to injuring a cop is to be sure the cop is aware you're a retard, then you can wail away with little to fear. |
| YES, I have seen some unexplainable strength by people that have never worked out a day in their lives. I have seen a arm snapped by 200lb obese female youth. I have seen a heavy metal door ripped off the hinges literally bare handed. I have seen a youth fight five grown adults and almost win. I'm a believer. |

For those curious this is the condition he suffered from, I speak of him in the past tense because he ended up dying from an injury on a construction job sight a long time after I moved away and lost contact. His family said it was related to the condition as he didn't know he had hurt himself and bled out internally. Norrbottnian congenital insensitivity to pain. |

Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Did we not already do this this week? Not sure. Might have missed it. You don't remember because... Say, how strong are you when you get mad? That was all mean and stuff. ![]() I say this as a borderline retard. So you're almost strong? |
