I was just reading about some fuckhead advocating these for everyone. I realize it is not a new concept at all, but just feel like I want to publicly state that this is the final "line in the sand" for myself. I would die in a hopeless fight before I let anyone put an electronic tracking device in my body. In fact, I would actively and violently oppose an attempt to impose this on Americans, God (and arfcom ) as my witness.

If someone stuck a chip in me, they would have to burry it under something reallllly important to keep me from popping it out sticking it in a dag.

I can see some future generation being comfortable with this, but I sincerely hope not.

We're just another terrorist attack or two away from them.

They will not be mandatory but will be required if you want to fly, serve in the military, vote ( hell you don't have to show a school ID to do that) ...

I am only in my mid 20's, born in the 80's, grew up in the 90's, and was an average teen in the beginning of the 2000's......

As young as I am, there is already a huge difference between the way we were as kids and the way kids are now.  Trendy hip hop/pop culture rules their lives and these little brats almost need to be paid to go play outside.  I have a new family that moved across the street from me and there must be 10 people in that house.  While all of the kids over there can get on my nerves with how loud they are, I will never complain because they are the only kids in this whole neighborhood that are playing outside and riding their bikes on a daily basis.  I would guess that it is parent initiated and I applaud those parents in the way they get their kids out of the house.

I get so angry seeing the way kids are now-a-days and how different my generation was.  I feel like I was part of one of the last decent generations that doesn't look at celebrities like they're gods and look for the government to run my life.  Being back in college at an age that all of my friends have already graduated, I can't tell you how often I have to bite my tongue when I hear some of the nonsense these 18/19 y/o's are spewing.  I have no doubt in my mind that a future generation would not only think this is ok, they would be excited for it.

America is hopeless.........I wish I could go back to living in the 90's and stay there.  Was it the best decade? No.  But it was the best that I knew and got to live.

You're assuming it'll be like Total Recall when in reality nanotechnology will make it so tiny as to be ingestible.  Hope you're not on city water.

Agreed. There will be apps that recognize user by implant and personalize the experience for the user.

Alohar Mobile (an evil California company)

The company has created a platform that lets developers build mobile apps that understand your behavior based on patent-pending sensing technologies. They can automatically detect the places you visit, including the names and types of locations, know when you arrive or leave, track how many times you’ve been there, and how much time you spent hanging out. They even understand if you’re standing still, walking, or driving.

According to CNET’s Rafe Needleman, who spoke with Alohar co-founder Sam Liang about the technology, it doesn’t just use the GPS receiver and Wi-Fi hotspot triangulation to figure out where you are, but relies on other sensors and algorithms such as the accelerometer, compass, and statistical modeling to determine where you’re likely located.

Needleman makes the point that automotive navigation apps also use a form of modeling which assumes you’re on a road even if GPS radios don’t exactly place you on one. Alohar works similarly: “If you're moving at walking speed, for example, it will place you on a sidewalk or in a building, not in the middle of the street. If the camera on your phone sees fluorescent light, it will try to geolocate you to an indoor location,”

LOL, "Evil CA company"

IIRC, doesn't Bill Gates have something like this implanted in him?  I thought I had watched some documentary about him and they talked about the chip he has in his arm or somewhere.  As he walks throughout his house, lights will turn on for him and off as he leaves, the room will adjust to his recorded body temp, amongst other things.  In that case, it would be neat.  But I'm not a billionare and I'm also not Bill Gates who can have a specialty chip created with protection to keep myself from being .gov GPS tracked.

They'd be tracking the lucky possum that got mine.
