Today, I attend Dave's Celebration of Life at the Niles, MI Elk's Lodge. I meet here on this forum, and in person many times when we had a local home town forum meetup's. He live a few miles from me. Sure sucks to see a man pass away so young. If, fact he was between the age of my 2 children. RIP Dave

Dave's COL went well. There was a pretty big turnout. Several of his friends and family members told stories about him, and at the end of it they set off fireworks (mortars) on the side lawn at the lodge. I was waiting for the police to show up (we were a block away from the county sheriff's station,) however his family cleared it with the mayor. Jim's Smokin's Cafe provided the catering for the COL. Dave was a regular customer there, and he was friends with the owner. The menu included some of Dave's favorite items, such as pastrami made in-house. |
