We hardly knew ye. You served my boys well in lessons of nature and life. Although you lost a limb in a harrowing o dark thirty escape from your tank, I still loved you. You finally made it to the big crawfish boil in the sky. Rest well my beady eyed crustacean.

Ah, oh well, guess I gotta find a ditch and get another on for the boys.

I was in a hurry to get out of the beach house. Her funeral was held in a pool of water on a golf course from the current hurricane.  I showed the body to the wife for positive ID. Upon confirmation I showed the children.. my 6 year old was incredulous and thought me to be joking. I held up the body of Pinchy and shook it like a Marionette. The 3 year old cried out "Pinchy noooooo, pinchy 's deeeeeeeaaaadd".

She went to he watery grave with an undignified under handed toss when she will remain. Until a protected bird species finds her. I suppose, in a way, I gave her the aquatic version. Of a Tibetan sky burial.

I liked the funeral that was held for the turtle. I think it's name was Stupid Fucker. There were bagpipes, a shoe box, and trash can. It was a very well put together memorial.

How long was it held in captivity?

I've never been able to keep a crawfish alive longer than a day or two. Of course I haven't tried since I was a kid.

And I used to keep them in a tin can under the RV.  I guess they would just slooow cook under there.

Would be interested in setting up a proper tank for one, but not if they don't last very long.

We had a crawfish boil on my boat. We had a few bags overnighted from LA. I asked to keep one for my kids. She molten once and had one clutch of eggs. Had her for about a year and a half. I have no idea how old she was. I'm going to assume that she was at least a year old when I got her. When she died her tail meat was as big as my thumb. She wasn't small at all. I think they typically live for 3 years give or take.

2-3 in captivity. I read some will go 7-8 years in perfect conditions.
