Well, it appears that the November elections around here are as lame as usual. There are quite a few people running for Sheriff. In Minnesota, it is very hard to get a CCW in a large Metro area. A sheriff around here can issue a ccw to people living in his county, but around here, it is easier to get blood from a rock. My idea is this, if someone REALLY wants to be Sheriff around here he should (as a campaign strategy) offer a ccw to any law-abiding citizen who wants one, and then do as he said he would. If it didnt get him elected because of a retarded political climate, it would at LEAST promote interest in having us go to a "shall-issue" status and keep a bit of momentum on the subject. |

John France, eh? I am going to look for more info on him then, and I'll tell my family/friends to vote for him. You said: "he is the only county Sheriff in the metro area who is pro-gun." Do you mean he currently IS a sheriff? If so, isn't that all someone needs to get a ccw? Just get his signature? Edit: Anoka county [:(] I need a pro-gun sheriff in Ramsey county, which isn't likely. Unless I am allowed to get a ccw from the folks in anoka even though I don't live there (I am just a few blocks away from the ramsey/anoka border)? I need more info. |
