So I'm sitting here cruising ARF on my lunch break.... I have some fried chicken and a black guy and a white guy walks by talkin bout damn that looks good. I'm like c'mon guys, I just started eating. No hand outs today. I'll fight ya over the chicken. The black guy says that that's a no win-position. Can't fight a black man over fried chicken.
He has a point? |

Nice to be able to have some fun and laugh a bit without anyone getting all kindza butthurt about it. I think it's funny because it was said tongue-in-cheek and there was no malice intended. I have an Asian friend and we were heading out to a business meeting. I said "You want to drive, or you want me to drive?" He looks at me with a quizzical expression, then a raised eyebrow, and says "How about YOU drive...it'll be safer for everyone." and gives a big wink. Came straight out of the blue, laughed my ass off. |

The other day he was showing me pictures of some girls he was talking to and after the third one I laid out Shit man, stop showing me the picture of the same girl over and over. We laughed. He says the same thing about me & my other friend (who look nothing alike) He'll look at one us and call us by the others name, and then be like Oh shit, sorry, you all look the same. |

When I was taking Structural Analysis, I usually sat in the same row as these two black guys, Rocky and Rob. Great guys, great students. One day, Professor Willy asks some questino about the Hardy-Cross method or something, and Rocky raises his hand. Willy says, "OK, Rob, what's the answer?" Rocky says, "Well, I'm Rocky. He's Rob. And the answer is ..." and goes on to explain. Willy says, "Great answer, Rock. I'm sorry I called you Rob." Rocky replied, "That's OK. We all look alike." I busted out laughing. I was crying. Everyone else in the class was, of course, mortified. Except for Rocky and Rob. After I composed myself, and after class, Rocky told me he appreciated that I thought his joke was funny, and asked me, "Why are white people so uptight about black jokes?" To be completely forthcoming, we all hated Rocky. He was smart, a sharp dresser, a great athlete, good-looking, had a beautiful wife and family, generous, funny and always smelled nice. Pure hatred. |

The area where I work is very diverse, we're always cutting up about stuff. Two coworkers (from India) came over to ask one of my coworkers about the meaning of the word "sensei". I turned around and asked them why they were asking the Chinese guy about the meaning of a Japanese word? At which point my team lead turns to them and says "How!" |

You should hear all the races and sexes (And sexual orientations)
in our unit's Ad Seg go at it. It's fucking merciless. One black officer was having a disagreement with an inmates about some sort of therapy where they sort of hit you with a certain kind of tree or plant (Stinging Nettle I think). The inmate thought it was horse shit and looked at me. "Hey boss...What you think about that bullshit?!" I just shrugged and said. "I dunno. They don't let us beat black folks with sticks anymore." An inmate that overheard the exchange got pretty heated but the boss and other inmate though it was hilarious. That's just a sample size of what goes on during muster. Thin skins don't need to work in ad seg. |

I'm not saying this particular black guy would have gotten offended but many would. For the record the majority of the people I have worked with would not have gotten offended. But someone I didn't know? My mouth would be shut. |
