| What is the best detector under $300 in your opinion. I am in the market for a new one. It has been a long time since I purchased one and after reading some reveiws I need some "real life" opinions. |

Get the V1. Nothing else does it all and does it well. BTW, the V1 arrows and threat count have saved my butt a number of times. It's easy to understand and put into use. Franklin x50 can track like eight signals at once with strength meters. It works as advertised. but... I don't know where these guys get it for under $300. |

had to come back here to claim another "saved my butt" story from this week.
Driving down the highway at good speed, the V1 is steadily beeping behind. As I crest the hills, it gets stronger, so I know how far back he is. He's no problem as I will be at work before he could ever make up the mile between us. Suddenly I get a mild strength "radar ahead" "same radar band" "2" count with a FLASHING FWD arrow. It goes away after a couple of seconds. I scrub off 35MPH, crest a very small hill and BRAAAAAPPPPPPP, I get nailed by a cop with "instant on". I never would have considered that a cop could hide over this tiny hill, as you can see over it fairly well, but just not good enough I guess. Fact is, it works, it works well and is as close to the ideal as possible. Franklin PS. Had I been using something else I might have thought the threat was still from behind, |

Someone who has been running a radar detector for long enough won't really need them. |
