If there is a band that I struggle to like it's this band. Growing up I loved their stuff but then I grew a brain and started to research what a lot of their songs were about and what they were supporting and it left me

I will say one thing for them at least they stick to their beliefs even if I don't agree with them. Zack went down to Central America for a time after the group broke up supposedly.

I normally don't care about political leanings, but when you label yourself as a communist and most of of your sounds can be labeled as anti America, they really do nothing for me.

Half the movies out have lib actors and/or producers. I guess with music though it's obvious what their thoughts are. My point is for example the great gun movies then after the actors come out, . Sheet making millions, that guns are bad

ETA at least Biggie liked guns, money and hoes

Ever since the douche climbed the set at the MTV awards years ago, I've thought they sucked.

I do like The Ghost Of Tom Joad though.  Not so much the message, but the sound of it.

IIRC they were sending money to the Sandinistas. They've never seen a dime of mine.

The way to defeat them is to ignore their message and enjoy their music, if you like it in the first place.

This. if i didn't listen to musicians who have a different political view than me, i'd be stuck listening to static. Are there some who i agree with sure, those are few and far between.

As I said Rage is one of the few exceptions....Most I can ignore the message but with them it's hard.....The Free Mumia is one

There is a difference between a band having a political opinion that I disagree with, and that band having nearly their entire catalog being based off of their hatred of everything I stand for.

Pretty much.

I look at them like I look at the dudes that buy Che shorts from the mall, with the iPhones in their pockets, who go to occupy/ ferguson etc. and talk about how evil capitalism is.

Jay z is a hypocritical douche too. Probably even more so because he has become the epitome of the free market.
