I figured I check with ARFCOM for the best advice. I need a recommendation for good lightweight rain jacket. I don't want something insulated.

I just want it to have a hood and be fairly cool and keep me fairly dry. Nothing to go catching crabs in the Bering Sea. Under $100 would be ideal.

Thanks!

I got a Carhartt similair to this . The pockets on mine are configured differently, and mine has a short waist for better CCW, but the material is the same.

They are built tough, very light, and TOTALLY waterproof. I wore mine fishing in a rain storm and stayed bone-dry. The hood comes off if you so desire.

ETA: Found mine.

marmot precip or frog togs.  I rock the marmot precip and love it.  And when i went backpacking in canada where it rains a lot, and all my canadian friends pulled out marmot precips..i knew i had chosen correctly.
