I live about 4 minutes from where that movie was filmed. You can barely recognize any of it now. My in-laws wanted to know what Arizona was like and so I played that movie for them. I was laughing the entire time... I don't think they cracked a smile.
Gale: All right, ya hayseeds, it's a stick-up. Everybody freeze. Everybody down on the ground. .... old man: Well, which is it, young feller? You want I should freeze or get down on the ground? Mean to say, if'n I freeze, I can't rightly drop. And if'n I drop, I'm a-gonna be in motion. You see... Gale: Shut up! old man: Okay then. |

They've got a name for people like you H.I. That name is called "recidivism." Repeat offender! Not a pretty name, is it H.I.?
No, sir. That's one bonehead name, but that ain't me any more. You're not just telling us what we want to hear? No, sir, no way. 'Cause we just want to hear the truth. Well, then I guess I am telling you what you want to hear. Boy, didn't we just tell you not to do that? Yes, sir. Okay, then. |

"Name's Smalls. Leonard Smalls. My friends call me Lenny... only I ain't got no friends."
"These [balloons] blow up into funny shapes and all?" "Well no... unless round is funny." "Everybody freeze! Everybody down on the ground!" "Well, which is it, young feller? You want I should freeze or get down on the ground? Mean to say, if'n I freeze, I can't rightly drop. And if'n I drop, I'm a-gonna be in motion." |

"All right, boy, I guess you got a reward coming. Twenty-five thousand dollars. Or, if you need home furnishings, I can give you a line of credit at any of my stores. In fact, that's the way I'd rather handle it. Tax reasons. "
"We don't want no reward. We didn't bring him back for money. " "We can work it that way, too!" |
