Anyone ever get them randomly or after you blow you nose?
I have broken my nose a couple times before, could that have anything to do with it? |

whoa, I have a nosebleed right now.....creepy
I get them very easily, every time I pinch my nose too hard or mine for gold. Ever since I was a kid it's been like that, I get nosebleeds probably 2-3 times a week. ETA: I also live in Florida, so dry air has nothing to do with it |

<========Paramedic.
High blood pressure. Very common with people taking anticoagulants such as coumadin, heparin, plavix. Or it could just be simple dry air. I got them in Kuwait a time or two. See your doctor for a protime and PTT blood test. Asking the interweb for med advice is bad ju-ju. Good luck bro. |

I was plagued with nosebleeds all through childhood and most of my adult life. I didn't have to blow my nose or sneeze - I could be laying in bed or sitting watching TV or eating dinner and it'd start bleeding. I've had chemical cauterizations done a few times over the years, the most recent one being about 3 years ago. So far so good, I haven't had any since then. Silver nitrate for the win. It didn't have anything to do with blood pressure, and there sure hasn't been any drug use (particularly when I was like 9 years old). My problem was/is blood vessels very close to the surface of the membranes in my nose. I'll probably have to go in for another treatment in a few years. |
Happens once every 6 months or so to me. Last time I got one was about 1-2 months ago while shopping in the grocery store after work. Was just strolling along, felt something wet near my upper lip and yup, blood. I had to continue shopping with my head tilted all the way back because I didn't have any tissues....

| I had my nose broken in junior high and it bled like a stuck pig then. Fast forward to a few summers ago (nose-break + 8 years) and I got about 4 random nosebleeds in a summer. I think it was because I was at a workstation directly above an AC vent that was going full-bore and it dried out my nasal passages and some capillaries or something burst. Haven't had any since *knock on wood* |
