Who in the fee-fi-mother-fo-fucking-fum dreams up the various fucking functions of this fucking should-be simple fucking operation?

Are fucking engineers all fucking retards?

When I fucking hit the fucking remote fucking lock it should fucking unlock ALL the fucking doors!!!!

If your dumb fucking ass wants it to only  unlock the fucking driver's door with the first push for that fucking one-in-fucking-ten-fucking millions times when the fucking boogie man is trying to get in the other side of the car, then fucking make the double click fucking function fucking work fucking properly you mother fuckers!!! I'm a fucking Jedi and all, but how am I faster than the fucking electronics?

And now, for you motherfuckers at Honda and Toyota- now my fucking car  fucking locks itself if I don't fucking physically fucking open a fucking door within thirty fucking seconds?

I fucking keeeeeeeeeeeeel you!! I fucking keeeeeeeeeeeeel you all!!!!

I like the liberal usage of the F-Bomb.

My Hyundai will also re-lock all doors after 30 seconds, but ONLY if you use the remote to unlock the doors, and fail to open a door.  Once a door is opened, and closed (or even the trunk) that cycle is broken.  You can leave your car unlocked all day long as long as you don't hit the unlock button on the remote.

I personally hate something that GM did on late-90s models.  When you put the car in drive, it would automatically lock all doors.  This part, I liked.  What I despised was that all doors would unlock once you put the car back into park.  I don't want to unlock my doors when I park.  I want to have full control of when my doors lock or unlock...

I hate the ones that don't open if you pull the handle from the INSIDE.

Points for the frequent f-bombs, but your post somewhat fails to truly deliver the rage through a written format. I'd suggest allowing the auto lock engage while your keys are still in the ignition (or, even better, keys AND cell phone both being locked in the car) while parked in a remote and bad neighborhood at dusk.

I'll give it a 7/10...

Get stranded, drop a rewrite, and remember, you should be hammering the keys and foaming at the mouth for a true and proper rant.

The rear doors in my car are like that. It kinda bothers me, though I suppose it's for the children and all.

I hate the ones that fucking arm with the remote and then the fucking car is to stupid to unarm when you unlock the door with the key because the fucking remote battery died and you have to drive ten fucking miles looking like a fucking retard with you lights flashing and horn honking.

What a waste of a decent rant....and all because we're too lazy to push a little button a second time.....3/10

There is a small dip switch on the door jam that you can flip to release the child safety locks....

There is usually a small switch on the inside if the door jam near the locking mechanism that you can move. This will
deactivate the child safety locks.

A couple of months ago I pulled up to a gas pump with the Toyota Avalon, pulled the keys out of the ignition, and locked the door.  I left the keys inside the car because the wife was in the passagner seat.  I filled up and for some reason she could not unlock the door.  Serously, I don't know why, but the electrick locks would not work and she could not unlock the door manually.   She could not start the car either nor roll down the window.  Good thing the sunroof worked and handed me the keys.  I unlocked the door from the outside and everything was normal.  I supose the remote could have unlocked the door, but it was busted.

I didn't like the locks in my Taurus: lock when put into drive and start moving, but didn't automatically unlock.  Fortunately the manual outlined how to turn off that function.  I rarely lock my doors during the day.

What I have always wished for is one-touch, all windows up/down.

More and more shit like this, and I will never buy a vehicle made after 2009.
I can't wait for the rant about the stupid "auto parallel park", or the "I couldn't change lanes because auto drive wouldn't let me."

My 350Z was like that. It would actually lock you in the car. Real nice option should you ever sink the car. One of many reasons I sold it.

I remember a time when you had to actually INSERT a key into the door to unlock it.  Oh, and it only unlocked that particular door and you had to reach across to unlock the other side because there was no button inside.  Don't get me started on having to turn the little crank to lower the window because the car didn't have air conditioning.  I don't know how mankind survived.

You people and your newfangled remote unlock thingamajigs. Although my key works the same way. Unlock motion once for drivers door, twice for all. Unlock from passenger side is unlock all.

I like it because with close to 200k miles, I don't want to wear out the other door motors

I'm apparently the last bastion of hatred for both power locks AND power windows. I've never had manual windows break, nor have I had manual locks break. Power locks and windows on any car over 10 years old   are practically guaranteed to have at least 1-2 shorts/switch failures requiring you to rip the doors apart.
Thankfully most of my vehicles have been 2 door vehicles with no power locks and no remotes, allowing me to avoid those autolocking, alarmed idiocies. The inconvenience of power locks far exceeds the minor inconvenience of leaning over to lock a door before driving off.

Child safety locks are off. Pulling the inside handle on the rear doors does not unlock them. Pulling the inside handle on the front doors unlocks and opens them.

Two of my cars don't even have remotes. Also notice these days front passenger doors no longer have key locks in them.

What's the complaint again?
