[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Rare factory firearm variations (Page 1 of 4)

I don't own any rare guns.
But someday I would like to own a Springfield full-rail GI model. GI bushing barrel and guide rod, and Novak sights. Now they make them with a bull barrel and Bomars. I'd rather have the first model. The new ones are pretty rare, the old ones are like hens teeth. |
Not really rare, but it is mine. And I like it.

One of two known examples: http://imageshack.us/a/img911/4065/QhEhxv.jpg And a Mk V http://imageshack.us/a/img541/4403/y0op.jpg Whoops. That's a big pic. Love the concept. Also i am jealous, when i was first stating to get in to firearms, those SMLE's were about 65 bucks. Always wanted one, but never got it. Buy cheap and stack deep and all that.... Why couldn't i know of this concept this in the early 90's... i was just a tweener/teenager... |

Original Model of 1950. .45 acp. Think they made about 1300 of these. http://i621.photobucket.com/albums/tt298/idesign01/DSCF8895.jpg |
| I don't have anything rare but work with a woman who claims her husband has one-she knows next to nothing about guns, her husbands a collector. Her story is, he has some rare Ruger firearm, and called when he had his FFL to order another one. They said it wasn't supposed to leave the factory, less than a dozen were made for Ruger employees, and they offered him anything he wanted from their current production line if he'd send it back to them. I say full of shit, but does this kind of thing ever actually happen? I've seen similar claims often enough it makes me wonder. |

I have a Mini 14 factory folder Ranch model. I have called Ruger and confirmed it left Ruger this way. Mine is a exact match for this one. https://s3.amazonaws.com/mgm-content/sites/armslist/uploads/posts/2012/01/20/281476_02_ruger_mini_14_stainless_steel__640.jpg What is your rarest gun you own ?
