I don't like this trend.

A fool and his support are soon parted.

Pity those who believed in him.

Looks as if some of the Democrat/Independents came home after his speech.

Not sure how long they'll stay, though.

Uhhh are we looking at the same chart!?

Did he just gain 10 pts on a BS speech that had no details on how to fund socialized medicine and attacking Republicans/Palin?

That's what I was thinking. There was a -14 spread not too long ago.

Testing his previous support levels.  I suspect they'll break lower to the 25% range by the end of october, and follow the longer term general trend of down.

-20 by the end of October.

When people figure out the current "good economic news" is all fake it will be back down again.

Spoke to a finance sector reporter today who said they are now talking about 12 more months of recession.

He also probably got a bump from Sept. 11.

Haven't you heard?  The recession was over in the summer!

Rasmussen and other pollsters said his bullshit speech would bump him in the polls temporarily.  After a week or two, the numbers were expected to continue sliding down back down.

Nobody should be surprised by this...a large chunk of the American public (you know...those people that watch reality shows) can be easily swayed to either side by smoke and mirrors.

The idiots that ride the "middle ground" will probably defeat us in the end because they are so easily influenced by pop culture and propaganda.

Capt. Picard can't say it any better...

Are you fucking shitting me? He was down 10 points a few days ago.

I am starting to think that Rasmussen is selling out.

He collects the info and reports the info.

Just because you may not agree completely doesn't make him a sell out.

Relax folks, you're going to see ups and downs like this.  Obama rallied the troops this past week and some of them came home.  I doubt they'll stay for long, though.

The more important number is the percentage of strongly disapproving.  It's not going down.

Nothing surprising there.

He'll be in comfortably positive range soon - just enough to eventually settle at a +3ish for the next year or so. Until the news reports the recession ending then he'll jump to +10.

This sums it up perfectly.  A lot of Americans are fucking morons, with the attention span of a toddler.

Obama always gets a little bump when he talks.

Then the American public figures out his lies.
Rush, Hannity, and the rest spread those lies and expose them for what they are.

Then Obama's approval continues to slide.

Scotty accurately reports the trends. Is your reality so closely tied to your desires that you ignore anything that doesn't jibe with your worldview?
