The water isn't running in my kitchen.  Its running in all the other sinks, showers, toilets etc.  Washer is going.  Just no water in my kitchen sink.  Weird, any ideas?

Do you have a diverter valve off?

Anyone been messing with the shut off valves under the sink?

Got a regulator not set right?

Are you turning the faucet knobs in the CORRECT DIRECTION FOR ON....

I believe so!  AS for turning them on correctly - I rubbed them and talked dirty to them.

Seriously I have no idea.  They were working this morning.
*ETA* I doubt its cold enough to freeze the pipes.  Its a new house and its gotten 20 below with out any problems.  The pipes are buried deep.

Turn the faucet on..................................................
Sorry had to do that you left it wide open!

No ideas from me. That is a weird one. Turn off the supply line and take the faucet apart and look for obstruction. Then very slowly turn on SOME supply and see if you get water coming in. That's a start. Hard to diagnose over the net.

How new a home , we had some probs in one of our showers , the cold water wouldn't  come on , turns out there was a  large wad of pvc glue that had  lodges in the valve & plugged it off.

I know this has been asked already but how cold is it outside?  Sure sounds like a frozen pipe to me.  If all of your other sinks/showers etc have water, it isn't a freezup in the outside supply line. But it could be a freezup in the line that feeds your kitchen sink.  Open the cabinet doors under the sink and let the warmth from the house thaw things out.  Check regularly for any leaks in case it really is a frozen (possibly burst) pipe.

did you check the basement/crawlspace for leaks?

1. Go under the sink and make sure the valves are turned on.
2. Unscrew the screen from the faucet and see if it is plugged.

Unscrew the thingy at the end of the faucet. There's probably calcium, limestone or volcanic ash buildup in there. They were probably backflushing the hydrants in your 'hood.

I have the same problem with my kitchen sink.  The cold water pipe freezes overnight in the winter (hot water still runs fine).  All other faucets are OK.

it turned out to be pretty simple.  The husband took the facet apart and cleaned the hard water deposits out of it and viola, it worked again!
