The reason that ARFCOM created the "NRA Activism" thread was to reform the NRA from the inside out. Joe was the first gigantic leap forward sent directly from ARFCOM to the NRA.
It is not possible to over-state his achievements in reforming the NRA and helping the NRA head in the right direction. He has had an enourmous impact on the other BOD members. He understands the HQ leadership beyond the BOD and I think he has really gotten their attention. He's pointed out to the NRA, again and again, that the AR-15 industry has boomed & AR owners are the ones increasingly buttering the NRA's toast. He has also pointed out that the AR15, as it existed during the AWB, was NOT an aceptable state of affairs - even if the NRA's rifle competition at the time was perfectly happy to go along with magazine bans and limits on flash supressors. The AR15 3 gun at Rock Castle is largely his doing & he has helped them realize that 3gun is growing at a far more rapid pace than the traditional NRA rifle sports. We NEED Joe and we need far more folks like him on the BOD. The momentum at the NRA is finally in the right direction; let's make sure it stays that way. |

It has been my honor and privilege getting to know Joe D. over the past year!! I hope we have many years together serving The People and fighting to defend, restore and protect the Second Amendment for many years to come!
Buckeye Firearms Association is giving Joe some special love and exposure during the NRA elections with some of his articles. http://www.buckeyefirearms.org/node/8174 Another article will post next week. |

How do I get a ballot? I've been a life member for over 34 years (my dad bought my life membership when I was around 8) however, I don't get the magazine delivered to my house, it goes to my dad's. The problem I have is he lives 12 hours away so it's not like I can drive over to get it, and to be honest I'm not sure if he kept the ballots that came in the magazines. |
