The series is just as good as the OVA. It's well done, the characters are good and the story is starting to shape up well. It's not predictable either. If you liked the OVA, get the TV series. It's worth it. Yokimo isn't in the TV series (at least not yet), but the three sisters who are make up for it. Ross |

Huh. I was under the impression that ROD(TV) kinda sucked. I'll NetFlix it now. Thanks for the heads up. Probably better watch the OAV first tho. |
I'd recommend you watch the OVA first. That will set-up the things that go on in the TV series better. There are also some folks that have already appeared in the TV series that are in the OVA, and having that background is a big plus. I wouldn't say you have to, but you're better off if you do. The OVA was great, and the art work was better done, but usually you have that kinda time with an OVA as oppsed to a 26 ep series. With a TV series, it won't look as slick, there's just not enough production time. Also it's not a continuation of the OVA, really it's a separate storyline. I think alot of folks wanted to see just a TV series version of the OVA, which would have kicked ass in it's own way. I kinda like the fact that they took the franchise in a different direction though. Barring anything dumb being done, I like the series so far. Ross |
