Zombies are just in movies. If there is actually a virus to cause a zombie Apocalypse, please tell me. Otherwise, (even though its fun to think about) its 100% imaginary.

Mad cow disease produces insanity and degeneration of motor skills and rabies makes you go nuts, A literal zombie? unlikely but somone with a disease that causes them to become extremely violent and insane isnt so far of a stretch, also many parasites and bacteria cause severly altered behavioral patterns, theres a parasite that can only reproduce in the digestive system of cats so it infects rats and causes them to seek out a kitty....... nature has some scary shit and id be afraid to see what would happen if somone got infected with rabies and mad cow disease, also we could easily weaponize a virus for that purpose if we so desired

There's a movie called- The Crazies, watch it. And don't put anything past the US Military. The civilian population are lab rats to some of these people. KDK has some good points as well.

Are we here to troll sir?  Play along or GTFO.  No zombies are not real.  But the thought should really make you think of "What if the shit hits the fan" scenarios.  Are you ready to defend yourself and your family in such a case?  That's what makes the Zombie Forum fun.  AND we get to imagine popping geeks in the noggin!  Cheers.

I'm in KDK's boat.  While I wouldn't ever expect an actual "living dead" I do think that there is a very strong possibility that a virus could cause humans to take some of the "zombie" symptoms.  I don't think it'll happen but there's always a possibility.

Of course they are real, look at the worlds collective heads of state, okay they don't wander the earth in the search of brains, but your money, taxes.

The thing with the zeds scenario is you can play the end of days game in selfish mode, ie not share with strangers, and as them strangers are the undead, you can put them down without having any guilt to deal with.

If your trolling your stay here will be a short one, as you only joined last month and this is your 8th post.

this

did you watch the History channels special on Zombies last week?

A prion i/ˈpriːɒn/[1] is an infectious agent composed of protein in a misfolded form.[2] This is in contrast to all other known infectious agents (virus/bacteria/fungus/parasite) which must contain nucleic acids (either DNA, RNA, or both). The word prion, coined in 1982 by Stanley B. Prusiner, is a portmanteau derived from the words protein and infection.[3] Prions are responsible for the transmissible spongiform encephalopathies in a variety of mammals, including bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE, also known as "mad cow disease") in cattle and Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease (CJD) in humans. All known prion diseases affect the structure of the brain or other neural tissue and all are currently untreatable and universally fatal.[4]

what if some sicko got a hold of some form of CJD, mixed it with rabies, and then let it loose in some form or another to where it was contracted by the human species. Very plausible with all the bio labs that have sprouted up over the last 20 years

Herpetic encephalitis can lead to increased aggression, a tendency to bite, and generally horrible behavior. In addition, the person will be slothful and move oddly.

Closest thing we have.

So far...

Take heart though. The "many worlds" hypothesis posits that a world where there are zombies does exists, and "you" are in it. Right now "I" am somewhere in a dark basement. The soft sursurrus of zombies grows ever closer. I am low on ammo.I have never been happier.

Exactly.
Ask anyone 60 and older if they would have ever fathomed we would be using phones smaller than the palm of our hand.
Or if we would of ever seen a day when a machine was smarter than a human being.
Or if we would be able to see and speak with someone on the other side of the world in real time.
Or if we would be growing replacement human body parts on a rat.
Or if we would be able to clone someone / thing down to identical genetic structures.
Or hell, if we would have a black or female president.
The answer will be no. But the materials were there for us to make these things happen, all it takes is some initiative.

The materials to make a "zombie" whether it be ragers or shamblers is out there.
All it needs is for someone to take the initiative to make it happen.

Also, this:
Occupy Protests Plagued by Reports of Sex Attacks, Violent Crime

<snip>

The incidents of sex crimes, reports of petty theft, assaults and general outbursts of violence have sprung up not only around Wall Street, but in Occupy camps across the country.

And many of the protesters have become more aggressive overall in recent days.

The most serious incident was reported in downtown Portland last night –– cops responded to calls of a Molotov cocktail being set off near the city's World Trade Center. Authorities had received unconfirmed information a week earlier that people within the Occupy Portland encampment were constructing the crudely made bomb, which is normally fashioned from a glass bottle filled with gas and a soaked rag or cloth sticking out of the opening as a wick.

At the site of the Occupy San Diego camp, street cart vendors were forced to close up shop Monday when protesters, angry that they stopped receiving free food, ransacked and vandalized the carts.
The angry mob not only scrawled graffiti on the carts, they reportedly splattered them with blood and urine as well.

<snip>

And this:
'Occupy Wall Street' Protester Throws Violent Fit in McDonald's When Denied Free Food Read

NEW YORK –– An "Occupy Wall Street" protester threw a violent fit in a McDonald’s after employees refused to give him free food.
Fisika Bezabeh, 27, ripped a credit-card reader from a counter and threw it at workers at about 2:30am local time Friday at the downtown Manhattan restaurant, which has become a bathroom spot for protesters.

<snip>

So maybe not even literal "zombies," but maybe just people acting like zombies.

I think that, for most people, zombies are just a

Look at MZBs... mutant zombie bikers.  Statistically, what are the chances?  Really?

I mean, first we'd have to assume that zombies were [literally] real.

And then we'd have to suppose that some of them would also be bikers...

And then, of that population of zombies who were also bikers, that some of these zombies bikers would also mutate... which would give us our "mutant zombie bikers."

And then, that there would be enough of them to form a "pack" of these mutant zombie bikers.

Shit, you do that math on that one... it's fucking beyond me.

Now, sticking with the whole "zombies as metaphor" thing... think about MZBs for training purposes.

You hear and read about people who prepare, yet who still meet bad ends.

For example, cops who shoot back but run out of ammo, guns jam, etc, and then the zombies –– whoops, bad guys –– somehow get the upper hand and kill them.

I think the bottom line is that if most people prepare for zombies/MZBs... they'll be ready for almost anything.
