Just got into this book by William Lane Craig...good stuff so far, but VERY heady and slow reading for a dim-wit like myself....when last I left off, he quoted the noted (now late) physicist John Wheeler:

"Of all the great predictions that science has made over the centuries was there ever one greater than this, to predict and predict correctly, against all expectation a phenomenon so fantastic as the expansion of the universe?"....

..i.e. the universe has a history AND therefore a beginning....and, of course, this raises quite a few metaphysical issues for us humans...

Anyone else out there read this book?

Did Wheeler tell us where the stuff the universe is made of came from?  I have heard "scientists" actually say that something came from nothing.

And I've heard theists proclaim that everything was created by an invisible, Omnipotent sky monkey.

None of the theories are satisfactory but some are subject to falsification, others... even questioning the 'truth' is a sin.

Damn, I came across as a catty atheist.
