Anyone bought from Jon Nelson before? I ordered one of his sexy little MM4 rifle cases after seeing it on MilitaryMorons along with an 8 mag pouch. He got my money 3 months ago with a 6 week lead time on the bag. Last month (9th) I emailed him and was told it would ship out over the weekend, but still no package. Is this typical? Should I be worried? Dave |

I don't have a phone number... I just sent the MO to a P.O. Box address. I just did a web search and found out that he's changed emails again and may possibly have shipped out for training for a month. I dunno, there was also a thread where he "had to move" etc. Obviously, I don't know anything about the guy or what his circumstances are in life but if it is true that he is Reserves or whatnot, he shouldn't be taking people's money and dragging delivery dates out to the point he can't predict his ability to produce what he sells.. I'm willing to give him the benefit of doubt.. I've done hobby business from home before and know that stuff comes up, but three months is a lot of time to Git 'er Done... Dave |

Always remember you are not the only one who Jon makes gear for you are in line with all of us other schmucks. BTW I am at nearly 8 months of wait time. Jon's gear is like Heinz Ketchup, it's worth the wait. I have never recieved anything in under 6 months from him but when it arrives it is well worth the wait and I am always glad I did. He is straight up honest and straight up busy. He has always been very helpful to me and I will continue to order from him things that I can not get anywhere else. If you are having Jon make anything for you do not think it will be in your hands anytime soon but always know it will be awesome when it arrives. Now having said that, Jon where is my stuff!? |

Obviously I'm not the only one he's making gear for-but you have to understand that: I don't know Jon. I saw a pic of his bag on the internet and emailed him. I don't know how much gear he makes. Or for who. I don't know how many other people he has in line ahead of me. What I do know is that: Jon was easy to get ahold of when placing an order. The delivery date has been exceeded, then extended and exceeded. Jon is no longer easy to get ahold of. I like quality gear. I don't mind waiting or paying for quality gear. I don't like being quoted 6 weeks for an item only to find out that I won't have it for 8 months, or next year, or whenever it shows up. Again, I'll cut him some slack for running a business from home but keeping your paid customers up to date will go a long way with them. Dave |

TheOtherDave We must have ordered the same thing around the same time. There are several posts on several different boards regarding Jon. My deduction is that if I see my case within 12 months I'll be lucky. From my contact with him, I think Jon is a stand-up guy and the case will be worth the wait. I just basically put this on the back burner and look forward to being suprised when it shows up. I know that's not much consolation but it'll be worth it. |

No doubt that Jon falls behind. I have gear I am waiting on about 10 months now. He has also banged things out in the time frame he gave you. Jon is a stand up guy. You will get your stuff. It will be perfect and you will think it worth the wait. The guys at the pointy end of the stick get first turn with Reccegear. I am not one. So, I wait. That does not make the lack of comms, missed deadlines, and unfufilled promises any less frustrating. I feel your pain. He really should not do that. I understand that he is on a deployment of some kind until the 29th. Yes, I have bought some very nice custom gear from Jon that I am glad to have. |
