Looking for a free DVD to iPod program; to put DVD's I have in hand onto my iPod. I guess the program converts it to an .mp4 or something like that.

If you know of one that works well, and is free to download, post it up!

Buy an apple computer, then download instant handbrake for free!

Or, you could find a pc version of handbrake which might be cheaper!

I usually rip it off the DVD with DVD Decrypter, then compress it down with AutoGK, then reformat it for iPod with dvdvideosoft video to ipod converter.

I use WinAVI, which I dont think is free, but does anyone know of one that will use more than one core of the processor so it takes less than 10 minutes to encode the movie? I've got a quadcore and it still takes 10 frickin minutes.

Okay, so I downloaded that.

It says I need to use a DVD ripper, so I downloaded one of those. I then put in Blackhawk Down, and it said the DVD was protected and I couldn't rip it.

So, now what? Am I not going to be able to put my DVD movie on my iPod?

+1  Works fairly well once you get it set up for your Ipod.

It also says to use DVDecrypter which is a specific DVD ripping tool.  I've not had any issues with protection using that program.

DVDecrypter has issues with Sony movies. Most won't decode.

Can't find the DVDecrypter program. Do you have a link to where I can download it?
