We have a pool table that needs new felt put on. It has a 3 peice slate top. How hard is this to do, can I do it? If I have to pay, how much should it cost? Thanks. |

I did this a few years ago but with a crappy non-slate table. I might have gotten directions and supplies from www.bestbilliard.com. It was a tricky project for me because I needed new rails / bumpers and had to fabricate them on the table saw. You'll have a much better job. It might be not much more than pulling off the rails, yanking off the felt, sticking down new with a strip of super-77 along the edges (there's a ritual to this. Do the center at the ends, the center on the sides, then the rest of the perimiter.) Finally pop the rails back down. A 3-piece slate table is normal. If it's already nice and level you're way ahead of the game. |
