After a couple years of crap being installed, and who knows what else,, tonight after work I am going to reinstall windows. If things go as they usually do, I will be back in about 2 months...
I presume all I need do, is install the CDs I made, in order of them being copied, and go from there. I copied all favorites I wanted to keep, copied all pics and documents to thumb drive, so maybe I won't lose anything I need. If I need to do anything that might not be thought of in doing this... please chime in,,, |

I would not reinstall windows on your HD if it has not crashed.
HDs are cheap now. Buy a new HD and swap out with your old. That way you can put your old HD back in temporarily if you forgot or need something. Just did this to upgrade to Windows 7. Made it much easier as I needed to refer to my old HD twice. |

Download at least the ethernet drivers from the Mfg website before you start. |

If this is Win7 or above, you mostly likely will not need any drivers as they will probably have them on the install disc. Having to install drivers after installing OS is becoming a thing of the past. |

As stated OP, a second hard drive might be useful (I would get an external and copy everything onto it and leave it there for a few months. If this is out of your budget/having a cheap backup drive is not up your alley, just make sure you have Windows disk, serial, Ethernet drivers, your data backed up, and a few beers. |
